My favorite horse is Ragtime because she reminds me of my Paint horse scout. This is a true story.

Two days before my birthday and five days before Christmas my horse Scout died. One night we went to get a Christmas tree. When we got back my dad said "Shoot! I forgot to feed the horses." He went down to feed the horses. Scout was missing. My dad heard a horrible cough in the dark.

My dad called my mom and said "Scout is missing and I heard a big cough. My dad got a flashlight and went to find him. He found him. He was standing there dripping with sweat on a cold night. My mom called the vet and my friend Mallory. My friend got here first. Before she got here my horse was dead. He fought to stay alive but he lost his balance and then died in my lap. The vet came too late. We sure do miss Scout!

P.S. My parents bought me a new paint-jumping pony named Lady Oreo. She had a baby a month ago. We named him Scout in for Oreos. When we look at him he reminds us of Scout.
